Congress Support 911 Education Month

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a resolution (H.R. 537) supporting the designation of an “appropriate month” as “National 9-1-1 Education Month,” and asked President Bush to issue a proclamation for it. The resolution also calls upon, “Government officials, parents, teachers, school administrators, care givers, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and the people of the United States to observe such month with appropriate ceremonies, training events, and activities.” The resolution is simply advisory, and has no legal effect or funding attached to it.
