New Group Ready for FCC Rules

A group of nine public safety organizations has formed a non-profit corporation that would become a spectrum license holder if the FCC issues new rules to create a nationwide public safety radio network. The Public Safety Spectrum Trust includes APCO, IACP and the IAFC, and is anticipating that a 2008 auction of spectrum will include a set-aside of spectrum in trust for public safety organizations. Now the PSST has issued an RFP for an agent to assist and advise them on the process. Read a press release on the RFP here, or download (pdf) the RFP itself here.
