Minneapolis (Minn.) officials agree there have been glitches in their new 4 month-old CAD software, but dispatchers have told a TV station that it’s worse than that–it slows down responses to the point of being dangerous. A WCCO-TV report blurs the face of one dispatcher, who claims that responses are delayed by CAD problems, and citizens are calling angry. City officials say issues are being addressed, but they’re related to additional capabilities, including AVL. The dispatchers are circulating a petition for the city to revert to the former CAD software. Watch the video report here, which doesn’t mention the city is using VisiCAD by TriTech Software Systems.
