Dispatcher Robin Crutchfield played a key role in the safe recovery of a kidnap victim. She was working at Lapeer County (Mich.) Central Dispatch when she fielded a cellular 911 call saying only, “Help me! Help me.” She called the number back but only heard a man’s voicemail greeting. She then called the cellular carrier to obtain an address. As officers responded, she called the residence and spoke to a man who refused to come to the front door. As Crutchfield continued to talk to the man, officers on-scene heard a woman screaming from inside, forced entry and confronted the suspect. The man was armed and it took several hours of on-scene negotiation to arrange a surrender. Read more and watch a video report here.
