Director Now on Admin Leave

The Barry County (Mich.) 911 board took no action at its Tuesday night meeting in the case of 911 director Charles Nystrom for overpayments he allegedly made on dispatchers’ pay. The district attorney continues to investigate if any crimes were committed by Nystrom’s action. According to county officials, Nystrom has admitted adding 10 hours to dispatchers’ timecards for two months in 2003, and one hour a week to supervisors’ timecards as far back as 2000. Nystrom never added hours to his own paycheck, officials admit. Nystrom continues to be on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
