FCC Clarifies Rebanding Rules

The FCC has issued a “Opinion and Order” on the 800 MHz rebanding rules, clarifying the acceptabiilty of costs that Sprint Nextel is required to pay for the process, specifically the FCC’s order on the “minimum necessary” costs of rebanding. The FCC said that its rules don’t mean the “absolute lowest cost in all circumstances.” Rather, it’s the minimum cost to accomplish the rebanding, “in a reasonable, prudent, and timely manner.” Download (pdf) the entire O&O here.
