Cherokee County (Kan.) dispatcher Jennifer Estrada handled a double shooting incident, fielding 911 calls from both persons who did the shooting and directing deputies to the scene. According to police, one suspect shot a woman with a rifle at a riverbank campsite, suspect #2 then wrestled the gun away fromt the man and shot him. Both dialed 911 on their cellular phones to explain their side of the incident. One suspect’s phone stayed live as officers arrived and arrested him, documenting his spontaneous statements to police. Estrada was on the witness stand this week to testify about the logging tape. Read more about the incident here.
