Detroit (Mich.) area media have revealed that Dearborn police officials decided not to charge an officer and his wife with drug crimes after he dialed 911 last year to say, “I think we’re dying” from eating marijuana-laced brownies. A police investigation determined that Edward Sanchez had stolen the drugs from a police raid, his wife cooked the MJ into brownies which the couple ate, and after the call he was allowed to resign without criminal charges. On the same 911 call, Sanchez asked the dispatcher for the score in the Redwings hockey game. Read more about the outrage caused by the no-charge decision here, or listen (mp3) to the original 911 call here.
