Oregon Radio Plan Killed

The head of Oregon’s Department of Administrative Services has told a state Senate comittee that he will not recommend the go-ahead for a planned $665 million state-wide radio system because the system’s budget is out of control and there are too many unanswered questions about the plan. During a hearing on Tuesday Lindsay Ball told the senators that more planning needs to be done, and that the pricetag must be reduced. In particular, he said there has been no agreement with local agencies for their participation in the network. Read more about the stop-work order here.
