Camden County (NJ) officials are investigating a 20-minute radio transmission inadvertently caused by an open radio microphone that contained racially-related remarks. Police officers told the Courier Post newspaper they heard two voices who they believed to be two African-American jail officials talking about white corrections officers. County officials said the transmission came after a white police officer stopped the two corrections officers to issue a traffic ticket. The radio channel supports the sheriff, park police and prosecutor’s office, and operates as a conventional UHF radio system in the 507 MHz band. Read more here.
