Boston police dispatcher Sharon Fitzpatrick, 35, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Sylvester Mitchell, her husband of four years. Police described the incident as a domestic violence incident and that it occurred on Saturday morning. Fitzpatrick is a 2-year veteran at the comm center and has five children ages 7 to 14. Detectives said they interviewed Fitzpatrick after her husband’ brother found the body. However, Fitzpatrick claimed that Mitchell had arrived home from a party with the stab wounds. She was released, but then arrested after police found what they believe is the murder weapon at the house. Fitzpatrick’s attorney said that she was “defending herself.” The police department said that Fitzpatrick has been placed on administrative leave, and is being held on $250,000 bail.
