About to Be Fired, Dispatcher Quits

A Youngstown (Ohio) fire dispatcher who was about to be fired for misconduct has quit. Frank Baran, 56, was accused of mishandling two incidents and for altering a sick leave form, and an internal investigation verified all three complaints. When confronted with the investigation and the city’s intent to fire him, Baran decided to resign. He told a reporter that he suffers from medical problems including a mild stroke, and has had surgery. He said that he cannot remember his actions when he suffers the black-outs.
