The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has released 29 minutes of logging tapes for 911 calls made by motorists who reported that a gasoline tractor-trailer had crashed and ignited at a key, 6-way Oakland freeway interchange last weekend. The fire occurred on an elevated section of freeway, and just below a fly-over for another freeway. The lower section was damaged, and the upper section collapsed from the heat. Because of the many freeways and directions, callers had difficulty describing the location of the fire. Listen to or download (mp3) the audio here.
