Language Problem on 911 Call

A four year-old Columbus (Ohio) girl drowned in a backyard pond after her Spanish-speaking parents dialed 911 but had trouble speaking to the dispatcher. The mother was on the phone for two minutes trying to communicate in Spanish before an interpreter could be conferenced into the call. At that point the interpreter explained to the mother than help was on the way. But about 50 seconds into that exchange, the mother hung up and, along with her husband, drove the girl to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. Read more about the incident here.
