NENA and APCO have signed a joint Statement of Cooperation on Next Generation 911 (NG911) migration and transition planning, outlining the current activities of both organizations, and how the two organizations will work together on future activities. NENA president Jason Barbour called the move “a major step forward” on cooperation for NG911. APCO president Wanda McCarley said in a statement that, “The future of 9-1-1 is one of the most significant issues facing public safety in the U.S.” Download (pdf) the statement here.
