The Snohomish County (Wash.) 911 center has 18% of its dispatcher positions unfilled, and insiders are telling KOMO-TV that problems first revealed by the television station last November are getting worse. Reporter Tracy Vedder heard from several dispatchers about incidents where a dispatcher sent units to the wrong address, or made other mistakes. Complaints by participating agencies and citizens have doubled during the past year, the reporter said after reviewing complaint logs.
