Tri-State Ambulance and Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in Lacross County (Wisc.) are asking county officials to change their dispatching to route medical 911 calls to their dispatchers for EMD handling. The director of Tri-State is scheduled to make the proposal to the public safety communications board, saying it will cost from $150,000 to $200,000 to implement, and then $90,000 to operate. None of the county’s dispatchers are EMD-certified, and now send a Code 3 response to all incidents. Read more about the plans here.
