Boston Subway Radio Upgrade

Officials of Boston, its transit agency and the state have agreed to pay $16 million to upgrade the radio system used public safety agencies in Boston’s 29.6 miles of subway system tunnels. Right now, the system operates only for transit users in the tunnels, but not among agencies and not above ground. When completed, the system will link Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, the state police, transit police, along with the region’s fire departments. Read more here.
