Oregon’s Department of Public Safety Standards and Training has honored the state’s 9-1-1 Program director Ken Keim for his contributions and support of the state’s public safety telecommunicator training program. The award spotlighted Keim’s work to add a fully functional 911 center at the newly opened 213-acre Oregon Public Safety Academy in Salem. The Vesta 911 system allows students taking the state-required 2-week academy to learn in a realistic hands-on setting.
