Senate Hearing on VoIP/911

The U.S. Senate’s committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation heard testimony on Tuesday from former FCC technology chief Dale Hatfield, APCO president Wanda McCarley, NENA president Jason Barbour and officials from Vonage and Intrado. The committee heard a variety of viewpoints on the ability of VoIP phone lines to handle 911 emergency calls, and on VoIP-based 911 system of the future.
