A Longview (Tex.) motorist being pursued by the police dialed 911 to complain to a dispatcher that he had done nothing wrong and didn’t intend to stop. Officers had tried to stop the car for a traffic violation, but Danny Ray Jones, 36, kept driving his pick-up truck, eventually leading officers through residential backyards. Despite his pleas to the dispatcher, he was eventually arrested and charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, criminal mischief over $1,500, possession of marijuana over 2 ounces but less than 4 ounces, and theft over $1,500 and under $20,000 — all felony charges.
