The Florida state House and Senate are considering legislation that would create an improved retirement benefit for the state’s public safety dispatchers. The bills would add dispatchers and 911 operators to the existing retirement class of “special risk member,” allowing them to collect a 3% retirement after 25 years of service. The bills are now being considering by committees. Download (pdf) a copy of the legislation here.
