Choking Victim Dies, Investigation

The Pasco County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 37 year-old woman, apparently from choking on food. Dispatcher Jennie Montanino gave the woman’s boyfriend instructions to clear the victim’s airway, and “did everything she possibly could,” county spokesperson Barbara DeSimone said. But without giving details, DeSimone said comm center supervisor David Cook, on-duty that night, was put on paid leave the next day pending the investigation.
