Did FCC Block Study Results?

A consultant hired by the FCC found that 60% of wireless 911 calls are made from indoors, where they can’t receive a satellite GPS signal and report their location to comm centers. However, in a USA Today story consultant Dale Hatfield says the FCC killed the report after reading its results, implying the Commission didn’t like the results of the study. However, an FCC spokesperson say the study duplicated the FCC’s own work, and terminating the study was intended to save money. Read the newspaper’s report here.
