Yet another complaint of a busy 911 line, this time in Syracuse (NY), where a fire victim tried dialing 911, heard a recording, hung up and dialed again. Naturally, her call was never answered, and she ended up dialing the Operator, who then notified the fire department. She was upset her call was put on “hold,” but John Balloni, commissioner of the emergency communications center, explained that hanging up just puts you further back in line.
