Council Supports Hong Kong Digital

The Hong Kong Legislative Council has issued a paper supporting an upgrade of the police department’s analog radio system to digital technology. The 6-page document says the current system is 13 years-old and technicians have trouble finding spare parts. The police department estimates an upgrade would cost about $5 million, and annual maintenance costs would be about $250,000 annually for the early years. Download (pdf) a copy of the paper here.
