Police Release Shooting Tapes

Salt Lake City (Utah) police have released over 3 hours of logging tapes that include 911 calls and radio traffic related to a shopping mall shooting on Feb. 12th. Dispatchers took 641 calls during a two-hour period after the shooting began, officials said. Five persons were killed and six others were injured before the suspect was shot by police. The tapes are from citizens who called to report what they saw, but also from other shoppers who had barricaded themselves inside stories–and in one case a walk-in freezer–to keep away from the gunman. Listen to the tapes #1 / #2 / #3 / #4 / radio.
