In a strangely similar incident, three climbers on Oregon’s Mount Hood became trapped by bad weather after one of them fell, and dialed 911 for help. Rescuers were able to locate the trio from their phone call, and also were able to home in using a radio beacon the climbers carried. The weather, including 70 mph winds, has prevented rescuers from reaching the trio at 8,300 feet, but rescuers were hoping the climbers can wait until the weather clears.
