Shippensburg borough (Penn.) officials have decided to join with Franklin County to obtain grant money for a new radio system, but since they also straddle the boundary with Cumberland County, they spent $100,000 on 800 MHz radios from that county, too. The Franklin county 400 MHz system could cost the same amount, borough officials said, prompting some politicians to wonder if they can get by with just one of the radio systems.
