911 Call Confusion

A 911 call reporting that a woman’s car had driven into an icy canal in Virginia Beach (Virg.) was noisy and confused, according to a logging recorder tape. “Sir, I can barely understand you. What is that noise in the background?” the dispatcher told the caller. The caller and dispatcher continue trying to make a connection on the location of the incident, and finally the caller says, “It’s too late. The lady’s going to die now.” Read more of the call here.
