A Chicago (Ill.) alderman has jumped on the 911+photos/video band-wagon, saying the city’s 911 system should be able to accept photos, text and video from citizens. Ald. Edward Burke has introduced a resolution calling for city council hearings on the subject. “A private citizen could immediately transmit a photograph of a person fleeing the scene of an accident to the 911 center, which then could immediately transmit that photograph through the system to the Police Department.
