Center Moves to Sheriff

The Georgetown County (SC) council voted to move administration of the county’s Central Dispatch from the Emergency Services agency to the county sheriff, and officials say the results have been excellent. Fire units are now being dispatched quicker and more information is being given to law enforcement officers when they respond to incidents. A news story doesn’t fully explain other problems, but says cryptically that, “Employees can only be as good as their leaders allow them to be.” Read more here.
