Bank To Fund Radio Encryption

The First National Bank in Dyer (Ind.) has offered to donate $45 for each new bank account opened through May 1st, with the money going to fund encryption gear for the city’s 26 police cars. The chief has complained that anyone can listen to the channel with a scanner, and needs the additional channel security. Equipping all the cars will cost about $11,700, so the bank needs to open 260 new accounts to fully fund the project.
