Waynesville (Mo.) police chief Don McCulloch has some definite ideas on whether the county sheriff should continue to perform its own dispatching–no. In a newspaper article headlined, “Sheriff’s dispatchers not essential, McCulloch says,” the chief said he turned over dispatching for his city to the Pulaski County 911 Board several years ago. “It has worked out well for us,” he told a reporter.
