911 Testing Process

Officials in Adams County (Ill.) are in the process of shaking out their new 911 system with a series of thousands of test calls from all the telephone exchanges in the county. From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. officials are calling random residents and businesses, and asking them to dial 911 or another test number. They then compare the 911 ANI/ALI information and the caller’s actual address. Officials believe the testing should be finished in time for a March turn-on. Read more here.
