Wyoming Retirement Bill

Wyoming state legislator Jack Landon Jr. has introduced a trio of bills that would modify the state’s public employees retirement system, including removing law enforcement dispatchers from the definition of “law enforcement officer” in the Wyoming Retirement Act. The bill has been referred to a House committee, and it’s unclear if it will reappear for a vote before the full house. The change would affect early and normal retirement age and service requirements, and benefit pay-out percentages. The bill would have no fiscal impact on the retirement system, according to a legislative analysis, which raises the question why the bill is being offered.
