Search Report Posted

The Klamath County (Ore.) Sheriff has posted the post-incident report on the search for the family of James Kim during December. Enroute to an Oregon coast hotel, the family drove onto a rural logging road in the midst of a snowstorm and were stranded for almost two weeks. James Kim died after he hiked out for help, but his wife and infant daughter survived. The report points out command and logistical problems with the search, and is instructional for any agency that might suddenly find itself in the midst of a critical incident.
