Free Radio Tower Work

Radio manufacturer M/A-COMM is reportedly installing a 7th radio tower site in Cecil County (Md.) to improve radio reception for public safety agencies, but isn’t charging the county for the work. According to a local newspaper, the project is several months behind schedule, so the company, “agreed to perform the work for free.” The story notes that the state police within the county are continuing to use their previous system alongside the new digital radio system, in order to maintain interoperability.
