A former firefighter for the Salinas (Calif.) Rural Fire District and part-time dispatcher for Monterey County has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, torture, kidnapping, making a death threat, assault with a deadly weapon and preventing or dissuading a victim using threat or force in connection with an incident involving his girlfriend. Frank Savinon, 36, had been fired last year from both agencies in connection with his guilty plea to under-age sex charges. He had been a dispatcher for 8 years.
