A Santa Fe (Tex.) police officer pulled over Robert Parker, 30, to cite him for a license plate violation. But while the officer was back in his patrol car writing the ticket, Parker was on the phone to a dispatcher reporting a phony fight. The officer broke off the stop and responded to the fight. But a dispatcher put two-and-two together, and the officer tracked down Parker not far from the original stop location. He was arrested and charged with making a false report of an emergency.
