The Unicoi County (Tenn.) Emergency Communications District Board heard complaints about dispatcher performance when the subject of the annual Christmas bonuses was raised during a recent meeting. Co-chair Robert Adams complained that he could hear, “joking, laughing, hootin’ and hollerin’ from the dispatch over the scanner,” which he described as “real bad.” Dep. Jimmy Erwin said some dispatchers have been found “playing on the Internet,” and said not all of them deserve bonuses. A news article didn’t say how much the bonuses might be or the board’s final actions.
