Tough in Vermont

A story with a bare 911 connection: Richard Abbey found himself in trouble while hunting in rural Vermont, but was able to hike out to the fence line along I-89. At 65 mph, Dana Starr and her 10 year-old daughter were driving past when they say Abbey waving. Starr immediately recognized the man was in trouble, pulled over, and then drove backwards about a mile to return to the man. She hiked down the hillside to Abbey while her daughter dialed 911. Abbey was transported to a hospital and recovered, but officials said he would not have survived if the Starrs had not seen him and stopped. Read more about Vermont at its finest here.
