Five Covington County (Ken.) dispatchers appeared before the city commission to voice their opposition to a plan to merge the city’s public safety comm center with the Kenton County center. Supporters of the plan say it would save $5 million over 10 years, but dispatchers feel that a county-level center will offer less service, and that the 15 city dispatchers wouldn’t be guaranteed jobs with the county center.
