Tennessee State Sen. Tim Burchett dialed 911 for help when he spotted teenagers burglarizing a warehouse he owns, and then had a sarcastic comment about how dispatchers handle 911 calls. Burchett captured the three youths and held them at gunpoint until police arrived to arrest them. When questioned by a reporter about how he dialed 911, and then told the dispatcher, “I’m going to get up on them and going to pop ‘em,” Burchett was blunt. “I could see this one kid’s fat head sticking out right up against the metal building and I called 911 and told the operator,” he said. “And of course, 911, you about have to give a DNA sample and mother’s maiden name to get them to come.”
