Dispatcher Injured In Fall

A five-year veteran Philadelphia police dispatcher was injured when she fell 30 feet down an elevator shaft as she was being rescued by the fire department from a stalled car stuck between floors. The unnamed dispatcher was in the car at police headquarters when it became stuck about 5:30 a.m., and she used her cellular phone to call for help. PFD arrived and was extracating her, but she slipped and fell in between the elevator car and shaft wall, and then fell 30 feet to the basement. She suffered broken bones in her arms and legs, as well as chest injuries, hospital officials said.
