The Indianapolis (Ind.) CBS-TV affiliate has posted an investigative report on the city-county 911 center, finding that it’s understaffed, and that many 911 calls are put on hold for up to 10 minutes before being answered. The two-part series said that authorized staffing has not been increased during the past three years, and that holidays are particularly short-staffed: Memorial Day down 12, July Fourth down 17 and Labor Day down 19. Read the report and watch the two videos here.
