New 911 Funding

The state of Tennessee has revised how it funds the 100 public safety communications districts in the state so they can fund on-going operations and Phase II upgrades. Each district will receive $40,000 regardless of size, and then the remaining available money will be handed out based on population and operating costs. A newspaper story says Bedford County will receive $104,081 each year to fund their center. Read more about the county’s operation here.
