Manatee County (Fla.) dispatcher Jaime Melser fielded a critical 911 call that required all her skills–a 6 month-old boy wasn’t breathing, and she gave his mother CPR instructions over the phone that saved his life. “Is he conscious?” Melser quickly asked, and the mother replied, “No. He’s a little limp.” An ambulance was dispatched immediately, but took another 8 minutes to arrive at the home. By then, the child had been revived and was crying. Read the call transcript here.
