The Mississippi chapter of APCO and NENA continue to provide relief to Gulf Coast victims of Hurricane Katrina who are public safety communicators. In a press release, the groups said they have visited the region to deliver additional gift cards to comm center employees. Both associations made substantial donations of gift cards immediately after the hurricane displaced hundreds of public safety communications personnel in Aug. 2005.
