A Henderson (New Zealand) police officer was saved by his radio…no, really, the radio on his belt. The officer attempted to stop a car that was suspected in a hit-and-run accident, but the car fled. The suspect eventually stopped, and the officer got to the window and tried to grab the keys. But the suspect took off again, reaching speeds of 30 mph. According to police, “The officer was saved from further serious injury by the heavy duty casing of the Motorola radio, when it became locked between his body and the road.” Read the full report here.
